The Framework

Health at Every Size™

The Health At Every Size® (HAES®) approach is a continuously evolving alternative to the weight-centered approach to treating clients and patients of all sizes. It is also a movement working to promote size-acceptance, to end weight discrimination, and to lessen the cultural obsession with weight loss and thinness. The HAES approach promotes balanced eating, life-enhancing physical activity, and respect for the diversity of body shapes and sizes.

Move in Nature

Exercising in a natural environment provides many challenges and benefits. Studies have shown that it working out outdoors decreases tension and the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenalin. Outdoor activities do not need to be strenuous. Even a low intensity exercise like walking can bring a powerful boost to your mood and metabolism.

Building Routine Habits

Building new healthy habits is difficult and most of us don’t fully understand how habits are built. We also don't realize how we've developed systems that reinforce our non-healthy habits and getting these cleared is an important first step. Most of us spend our days indoors in front of screens. We wake up tired and the last thing we feel like doing is moving after a long day or work. Teaching our body to crave movement takes time, but I together you will learn long-lasting habits to keep you happy and moving.

I use to spend lots of time dedicated to circuit training and workout classes. Over the years it started to feel harder to move and down right painful at times. April helped me realize how my choices were contributing to a sedentary lifestyle and opened my eyes to movement and physical activities I really enjoyed!
